You can pull the string to make the ruby slippers click together. This ornament was designed by Debra Murray. On the front it says "There's no place like home." Well done, Debra and Hallmark!

In addition to the Christmas Window ornament, there are two other ornaments available to Keepsake Ornament Club members with their paid membership.

Hide 'N' Peek was sculpted by Mike Adair. You can turn the crank to see toys pop up from their boxes and hear a version of "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers."

Starlight Angel was sculpted by Edythe Kegrize and Kristina Gaughran. Edythe started this ornament as a tree topper for Hallmark's Wonder & Light collection. It was then scaled down to be ornament size at 5 1/2 inches tall.

Keepsake Ornament Club members can pick two ornaments with their paid membership, but they can also purchase the third ornament.

If your favorite Hallmark store sends you a VIP invitation this year, it is worth going in and making the required purchase for the gift bag. This year's bag includes a repaint of the 2009 Season's Treatings #1 Hallmark ornament. Here's a picture for you:

The other contents of the VIP bag are quite nice this year too. A coffee mug, journal, wine stopper, cards, and set of cookie cutters. Of course the ornament will be the big draw for many.

If you do receive a VIP bag this year, please be sure to thank the store owner or manager. Many people think that Hallmark sends these bags to the stores for free. That is not the case--the stores have to purchase the contents of these bags.

The Gifts We Bring is a set of 3 porcelain ornaments is inspired by the Mary's Angels series. This ornament set goes with the nativity ornament that was issued in 2009. These ornaments were sculpted by Robert Chad and are each approximately 3 1/2 inches tall. This set is scheduled be released in limited quantities beginning September 10, 2010. The most exclusive Hallmark ornaments for 2010 are probably the ones being offered this week at Comic Con. Comic Con is the largest comic book convention in the world and it is being held in San Diego this week. Hallmark is releasing 3 exclusive ornaments for attendees to purchase.

The 75 Years of DC Comics ornament features Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman. Hallmark will sell 750 of these ornaments at the convention for $40 each.

From Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is a set of two ornaments: K-3PO and R-3PO. These ornaments are repaints of the C-3PO Hallmark Ornament offered in 2003. There will be 1,000 of this ornament set offered for $30 per set.

The Simpsons: Mr. Burns' Christmas Bonus ornament is limited to 500 ornaments at $20 per ornament.

Now don't rush down to San Diego hoping to run in and buy these. Comic Con tickets have been sold out for months. If you want one of these ornaments, your best best is to watch for them on Ebay. I'm sure they'll start appearing within the next couple days--if they aren't already posted. Expect the prices on them to be pretty high though.

A new series for 2010 is the Windows of Faith series. The first ornament in the series, Glad Tidings, was designed by Keepsake Artist Tom Best. This ornament features a light clip that accomodates a standard mini-sized bulb so you can really make it appear as stained glass. I'm hoping that the picture doesn't do this ornament justice and it will be prettier than it appears. I suspect displaying it backlight with the mini bulb will make all the difference.

New Series for 2010: Star Trek Legends

One of the new ornament series Hallmark is introducing for 2010 is Star Trek Legends. This series will feature characters from the original Star Trek television show that debuted in the 1960s. The figures will be a bit larger and more detailed than the Hallmark Keepsake Magic ornaments issued in prior years. According to "For Keeps" (the newsletter of the Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Club), "they will also feature action poses than will work together to tell a story as they are displayed on the tree."

The first ornament in the series will be Captain Kirk, sculpted by Keepsake Artist Anita Marra Rogers.

Are you getting anxious to see the 2010 Hallmark Ornament Dreambook? I know I am. The latest word from Hallmark is that the 2010 Dreambook will be mailed out to members of the Hallmark Ornament Keepsake Ornament Collectors Club in April and will be available in stores in May. I really miss the old days when we got to see the Dreambook in February.

2009 Hallmark ornaments are selling out quickly

Wow! The 2009 Hallmark ornaments have been selling out quickly. The shelves are starting to get really bare at many Hallmark stores. I think many stores ordered less due to the economy. Hallmark produced less since it had smaller orders. 2009 is the year to BUY IT WHEN YOU SEE IT. So far, the hardest to find around here are Jingle Bell Rock (the guitar), Mom-To-Be Angel, Seasons Treatings #1 (#2 in the series will feature cupcakes and is so TOTALLY cute!), Cousin Eddie's RV, Ghostbusters, and Baby's First Christmas Little Sweet Pea. Every day tho, the shelves get more and more bare at the Hallmark stores. Good luck finding all the ornaments you need for your collection.

Check your local Hallmark store for the Mary's Angels: A Newborn Blessing. This is a Keepsake Ornament Collectors' Club exclusive and the first piece of a nativity set "mini-series". The second piece will be available in 2010 and the third in 2011. Even though it is a KOC exclusive, many stores don't even ask for proof you are a club member. All the Hallmark literature about this piece states it will be available in September, I've already seen it on the shelves in several Hallmark stores.

Here's another of the 2009 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Collectors Club membership ornaments:

I think it is awesome that they have a Snoopy ornament this year.

The third membership ornament is Cards for Santa:

New and renewing members of the Hallmark KOC club can pick two of the three membership ornaments (the two shown here and the Christmas Window shown yesterday). I predict the Snoopy and the Christmas Window ornaments will be the most popular, although Cards For Santa is certainly a good-looking ornament.

Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Artist Nello Williams

You probably know that Nello Williams designed this years Swingin' Into Christmas Jukebox ornament, shown below.

But did you know his musical talents are also featured on the 2007 Santa's Jukebox ornament that was designed by Tom Best?

Nello plays guitar, keyboards, and ukalele. The "rockabilly" version of Jingle Bells on the 2007 Hallmark Santa's Jukebox ornament is by the Nello Wayfarers featuring Nello Williams. Nello also contributed his musical talents to the 1999 Hallmark Jazzy Jalopy ornament that was designed by Ken Crow.

Christmas Past has all three of these Hallmark ornaments for sale on their website.

Hallmark Happy Tappers

Holiday Ball Ornaments - 2008 Hallmark Ornaments

Starting premiere weekend, July 12-13, 2008, Hallmark will begin offering a collection of ceramic ball ornaments. The first, pictured above, was inspired by the 1998 Snow Buddies ornament. It is titled "A Holiday Hello" and is 4 3/4 inches tall.

The second ornament in this collection will be "So Nice Being On Ice" featuring a Frosty Friends scene. It will be available beginning August 25, 2008.

"Adding the Final Touch," a scene featuring Snowball and Tuxedo, will be available at Ornament Debut beginning October 11, 2008.

Holiday Open House, beginning November 8, 2008, will bring "Christmas on Main Street." This ornament will feature a main street style theme of the Nostalgic Houses and Shops series.

The fifth and final ornament in this collection will be available beginning November 21, 2008. "Having a (Snow) Ball" will feature those lovable penguins.

These ornaments will be originally issued as Hallmark Gold Crown exclusives.

2008 Hallmark Limited Quantity Ornament: Nostalgic Houses & Shops: Mayor's House

There will be several limited quantity ornaments available during the 2008 Hallmark Ornament Premiere, July 12-13, 2008. One of the limited ornaments will complement the Nostalgic Houses and Shops series. It is the Mayor's House ornament by Don Palmiter. This ornament celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Nostalgic Houses and Shops series. I think this one will be in high demand.

There don't seem to be very many secondary market shows for Hallmark ornaments anymore. I think it is probably because of the popularity of the internet. Most buying, selling, and trading of ornaments now happens online. Anyway, I received an email today about a secondary market show so I thought I'd share it.

There are several other dealers displaying all kinds of ornaments and Holiday collectables, We are

Hallmark.com No Longer Selling Ornaments Online

In response to one of the comments: Hallmark.com will no longer be selling gifts, flowers, or ornaments online. It is my understanding that they will post the 2008 Dreambook online for the public to view in early May.

2008 Hallmark Halloween Ornaments

For you fans of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hallmark is issuing a couple ornaments you'll like in their 2008 Halloween ornament line. The first is of the Pumpkin King himself. The other is actually a set of four ornaments featuring Sally, Lock, Shock, and Barrel. You can see pictures of them on here:

Hallmark Holiday Open House Event

The Hallmark Holiday Open House Event was held November 3rd and 4th. Hallmark released two more limited quantity ornaments for this event:

The Rodney and Rhonda ornament was the more limited of the two. In addition, Hallmark also released some "movie" ornaments that were not shown in the 2007 Hallmark Dream Book. I'll post pictures of those offerings later.

2007 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Collectors' Club Event Ornaments

Have you seen the ornaments available for sale at the Hallmark events celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Keepsake Ornament Collectors Club? The first event was held in Las Vegas the first weekend in August. The first couple Mary's Angels ornaments from the event that showed up on Ebay were bid up over $100 each. When more were offered up for sale, the prices dropped a bit. They are still going for a nice price tho.

The only Maxine ornament in the 2007 Hallmark ornament collection is also only available at the KOC events:

There were also two colorway/repaint ornaments--a repaint of the 2007 All-American Trucks: 1947 Chevrolet Pickup and a repaint of the 2007 Fire Brigade: 1988 Ford C8000 firetruck ornament:

A special decoration was issued in limited quantities to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Club. Santa holds a wreath that is decorated with tiny versions of First in Series ornaments. These tiny ornaments were sculpted by the Keepsake artists who have been with Hallmark since the club was started 20 years ago--Don Palmiter, Sue Tague, Robert Chad, Linda Sickman, Ken Crow, Anita Marra Rogers, and Robert Chad.

2007 Limited Quantity Hallmark Ornaments Available Premiere Weekend

Hallmark Place just posted pictures on their website of the Hallmark limited quantity ornaments that will be available Premiere Weekend. The repaint of the 2005 Fairy Messengers #1: Poinsettia Fairy shown above is just one of several limited ornaments available that weekend. Of course, no one but Hallmark knows how limited they will be and they aren't saying.

Another 2007 Hallmark Ornament

Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Club members who attend the 2007 Hallmark Ornament Premiere at their local Gold Crown store will receive the following Peppermint Pup ornament free of charge.

If you're not a member, you can probably join the ornament club in the store during the Premiere and receive the ornament for free. Any left over ornaments after the premiere will probably be available for sale to non-members for $7.50 each.

January 2007 Hallmark Ornament Show in California

You don't see too many Hallmark ornament shows around anymore. Most the secondary market buying and selling now happens on the internet. However, the HoHo (Hooked on Hallmark Ornaments) Club of Southern California is hosting a Hallmark ornament show and sale on January 14, 2007 at the Marriott Suites Anaheim. The hotel address is: 12015 Harbor Blvd, Garden Grove, California 92840. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and admission is $4 per person. Parking is free and there are hourly door prizes. Okay, I'm trying to get the hang of posting pictures so I thought I'd try posting the 2006 Hallmark ornaments for A Christmas Story.

Okay here's the last one.

Okay, I'm not getting something cause the code for the image link always shows up before my typing or at the top of the post rather than after my text where I want it. Then I have to cut and paste the code to the correct location.

Oh well, this is supposed to be about Hallmark ornaments, right. Well there you have the pictures of the 2006 Hallmark ornaments that were released in November to commemorate A Christmas Story. Around here, the Mr. Parker's Prize ornament (leg lamp) seems to be the most scarce. It is my least favorite of the three ornaments, go figure.

2006 Peanuts ornament from Hallmark

Here's a picture of the Peanuts/ Snoopy snowglobe ornament that was not shown in the Hallmark Ornaments Dreambook. The name of the ornament is "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown" and it is about 3 1/4 inches tall. This ornament was a November "surprise" introduction and came out right before the Hallmark Open House weekend.
